Intersecting Seasons

Usually, seasons fade one into the next and we are never quite sure when the change is complete.

Today, from the vantage point of my deck, I watched them intersect.
Boats, relics of summer, sat moored on the edges of the lake.
The larch burst in sporadic orange, claiming it was still fall.
While winter lay down a blanket of white, whispering it was on its way.

love the picture and the poetry! the juxtaposition of the different seasons is beautiful! nothing poetic about the turn of seasons here. perhaps nothing is as picturesque or inspiring as I look outside... warm santa ana winds and hazy afternoon sunshine.

Beautiful and Glorious picture!!

We finally have a couple of warm days here at home. October has been unusually cool, drizzly and rainy. That should all end on Saturday with more rain predicted for one day....so the weathermen say!

Oh i wish i was there. We had beautiful fall colors till the wind blew. Now all we have are bare branches. At least we had color for awhile.

I can never get over your view, just splendid! Each year we close down our lakehouse on Labor Day wknd and I won't go there again until Memorial Day, just wayy too nostalgic for me, best for me to be out of sight out of mind, but with white covered mountains in your view...oh my goodness! I could look at it ALL YEAR ROUND...so beautiful!!
