This was taken from right in front of our driveway looking up at our mountains yesterday evening.
The fire was working its way down, so the firefighters decided to do a backburn.
They did not lose any homes in our area as of this morning and now the hills are charred and it has run out of fuel in our area.
It was a surreal feeling to stand on the street and watch this fire, even though we knew that these couragous firefighters know exactly what they are doing.
Working on a post about all of the crazy stuff that has gone on here the past few days.

Wow, how scary. So glad that you are all o'kay.
They are doing such a good job trying to keep you all safe. That video gave me goosebumps.
Imagine how beautiful everything will be when it all grows back! Focus on that:)
Oh my gosh! I know I have said it before, but please be careful! I cannot even imagine what you're feeling right now. I am keeping you, your family and your community in my prayers!
So glad that your house and neighborhood is safe and sound! What a frightening experience you go going through.
On Saturday - I was at Disneyland - we were looking past the backboard in Toon town and saw the most beautiful and massive cloud formation - later I found out it was from the fires in the mountains. Crazy - The moon is pretty to cool to look at too - bright orange.
Stay safe.
Love,
Kelly

I don't know how you are staying calm during this. Thinking about you -
I'm glad you are safe and doing ok!
I'm so glad you are safe. If you end up being evacuated, try and let us know although I know blogging will be the last thing on your mind, if that happens! Thinking of you and your neighbours and I hope this all stops soon. There are also fires raging in Greece, where my husband is heading for right now, so that's pretty scary too.
Take care, hon, I'm so sorry.

It really has been like a dream... and now school is starting tomorrow. Nothing like a big wake-up call!
