As you know, with Toots, all clothing must be either a costume or a sports uniform. I try my best to get him into normal cute clothing, but it us usually a battle I don't want to participate in.
So, the other day, we went to buy some new school shoes and he picked out some SKATE shoes.
He logically deduced- if you have skate shoes, you had better get on a
SKATEBOARD.
Mister Luke scrounged through our garage and geared this boy up to the max.
He got a little dirty
and learned some new moves
and took some spills
and his mother gasped loudly many times
and said many silent prayers
but Toots got up every time with no tears and
tried and tried again as the old saying goes
and the board slipped from under him and skated away from him and
taunted him with its rollerability
and he got up and told that board that he
would be the master
but that board was not to be taken easily and it soon knocked him down again
perhaps some Charmin padding would be in order
next time because
this little four year old was now
but, still feeling like one cool kid!

Nice board there Toots! Good job!
i was about to say "oh he is SO cute!" but that is not what you say to a skateboarder!!
i do love his tenacity. looks like he is going to be a guy that doesn't give up. great quality to have. (and he's cute)
That's awesome! Reminds me of all the cool skater guys I grew up with in California.
I never would have guessed he was only 4. He looks much older!
And I love the story in pictures.
I didn't even recognize him in that 1st picture. Joe said he was doing great! Those pictures are the BEST! Move over Tony Hawk, you might have some competition soon! If anyone could do it.. Ty is the guy! He NEVER gives up.. EVER!!!!
what a good looking skateboarding dude you have there! my 3 boys ( i guess men now, i hate to say) used to do every activity that involved getting hurt! enjoy that boy- it will end all too soon!
He is so cute!! Love the dirty grungy clothes and face. I would be gasping too.
