This photo was taken of Mister Luke and Jackie Boy when they were 5 and 4. It is one of my favorites because it was before our landscaping was done, back when mud was a very common thing in our yard and when the ladies at the nail salon would gasp at the amount of dirt under my toe nails.
These boys got dirty and loved it. You can see Luke's happiness in his eyes and Jackie Boy is ebullient as always! These guys are getting bigger now and although I absolutely love them just as they are, I still miss them as they were then. There was time when there were only two and this picture reminds me of those times.
And now there are four and every day, there are moments when I think, "I want to freeze them as they are because they are so darn cute." But then the next day comes and I think the same thing again.
All I can say is thank goodness for photographs or I just couldn't survive it.
You know, the trying to hang onto all the moments.

I find myself reflecting often on my children and when they were much younger. These days I am looking up at both my boys and nearly looking my daughter level in the eye. I don't know how I got here with them! The old cliche is that the time with your children flashes by faster than you know, but it's so true. I miss my little babies, my chubby toddlers and my inquisitive youngsters. But I love them just the same now, going into young adult hood and beyond. That will never change.
lovely photo! I am all the time reflecting and thinking how time is passing quick....my first newborn is already 6 months and I got no idea where these months passed! came by from SITS
What a sweet photo! They look like they had a BLAST!! Bet you had fun doing laundry after, huh? :)
Great mud masks, I'm sure it was fun for those boys. I know mine are always excited to get a chance to roll in mud. I try to remember that one day I'll miss it because it goes by so fast.
I'm also loving your header.
happy hopping:)
That is a great shot! I'm with you, there are so many times I wish I could just freeze time so my son will stay so little and adorable. You are so lucky to have been blessed four times over, they are lovely children. Have a great SItS day!
So glad you hopped over so I could hop over here! I love your mom style. You are letting kids be kids! A little dirt never really hurt anyone and from the looks on those little faces, it actually did wonders for their souls. Love the photo!
This is why soap is a mom's best friend. LOL.
I love the caption of your blog.
Dirt and little boys go hand in hand!! Very cute photo.
Oh, I love this photo. Little boys love playing in the dirt, don't they...actually come to think of it, so do big boys :)
Blessings,
Amy
That is the BEST picture! I totally understand what you mean about wanting to freeze the moment.
That was just too cute!! I'd frame that one.
Little boys and mud...there's no better combination! So much fun.
Love it...there's nothing better than little boys playing in the mud!
Stopping by from SITS! Your sons are adrorable. ~Have a blessed day. ~Warmly, Melissa :)
That's so true. You want to capture their voices, the things they say, their quirks and it's so sad that we just can't remember it all.
What a great shot! And I know the feeling - wanting the freeze the moment! They grow so fast...
Just stopping by from SITS. Hope your day will be fabulous!

Your so right. It is so hard to see them grow up. I just wish they could stay little forever.
Love and Prayers,
Tim
