It is my sister's birthday today.
I know mine seemed like it was just yesterday from my post, but it was actually on the 29th.
Our birthdays are just three days apart.
That seems to happen a lot in our family.
Mister Luke and Toots are just one day apart.
HH and Jackie Boy are just two days apart.
Little Bear and my niece are one day apart.
This photo is from January when she came up to see us.
It is so funny because when we looked at this, she said, "That is so us."
She meant that regardless of the the negative temperatures, she still looked cute.
Sunglasses, cute hat, no multicolored neck wrap, hair fixed.
She will be mad at me for telling you this, but she was once a successful beauty queen.
My mother would tell you that she was the longest reigning Miss Glendale.
She rode on the Rose Parade float and waved her hand gracefully.
However, I am ever practical.
Giant goggles, multicolored cozy wrap covering my head, cheeks and neck.
Hair smashed beyond repair.
I love this photo.
I love it because sometimes we are very alike and sometimes we are very different.
With sibling relationships, that can be a delicate balance.
I see it with my own children.
But, here we are.
Similar but different.
Understanding the incredible gift and value in that.
Here we are.
My only sister.
My forever friend.
