How to Make a Pizza Costume

As I have told you before, I am not a crafty person.
But, when it is necessary, I can throw something together.
This post is for all the other non crafty people who may be able to make something with some fabric, foam and a hot glue gun.

Jackie Boy said he wants to be a piece of pizza this year.
Hmmm, I thought.
Can I make that?
So, I headed down to our local Ben Franklin and noticed some yards of what I am calling foam.
This does not mean that it does not have any other completely legitimate name of which I am unaware.
I bought 5 feet if it.

At home, I drew the shape of a pizza and a neck hole and cut it out.

I thought this looked like about the right size.

At the store, we also picked out some fabric that looked like the bottom of a pizza for the back and top part of the crust.

I cut it and hot glue gunned the fabric to the foam.

Cut little slits over the neck portion and glued those down.

Then I took those edges of the foam I had cut off and cut them into smaller pieces. I stuffed them up into the top portion of the front which would be the crust.
This way it would be raised.

At some point I must have stopped taking pictures because I have none of the application of the cheese fabric for the front.
I placed it under the crust and glued it down.
Then I folded the crust part under and glued it to the cheese.
I am thinking this probably makes no sense.

On to the pepperoni.
Jackie Boy cut out some circles and half circles from the remaining foam and glued some reddish fabric around them.

Then, we glued them to the pizza.

Here is our final costume product.

I also glued some ties to each side just beneath the arms.
This was actually easy and fun to make.
It took about an hour to complete.
And best of all, Jackie Boy will be one happy little pizza slice!

Yes...very nice for not being "crafty". The things you could make, if you knew how to make them. ;-)
