I'm Guilty- a little!

I have some guilt weighing on me!

I have been unfair to someone on my blog.

I have told stories that have shown her in a very bad light ( here and here) and I think that I need to give you a more well rounded view of her. Oh, and I did show that really crazy video of her once here!

I mean, it really was the mail carrier's fault, right? She just couldn't help herself and well the other incident- it was just true to her nature and should have been expected. And sometimes I feel like a crazy person running in circles too so that video wasn't really so bad.

I have also called her names. Or, name to be exact and that name well...

just says it all.

So, I want to, with complete kindness and an effort to look at her in a favorable light so as to assuage my guilt, introduce you to M.J., normally known as Destructo Dog. No, she is not named after Michael Jackson or Michael Jordan, but rather after our first dog named Molly. So, M.J. is really Molly Junior, but her name has evolved into Emmy. And the first Molly, who was our first child really and a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback, was normally called Molly Girl, which evolved to Molly Monster. Come to think of it, that wasn't very nice either, but I just think it is so funny how nicknames evolve and change on their own.

Anyhoo, most of the time she is called Emmy except for the weird time that my sister called her Majestic out of nowhere which does pop into my head every now and then.

Okay, I think I am done explaining her name. Silly that it took a whole paragraph and that I still seem to be talking about it.

Okay, I'll show you pictures of her as a puppy.

She found this stuffed animal of the boys and played with it for all of two minutes before it was destroyed cuddled with it so nicely.

Please disregard the early plywood unswept flooring that graced our home for many years while we were under construction.

And how cute is she curled up in these shoes?

Oh good, I have something nice to say- she has never been a shoe chewer, just a shoe sleeper.

Here are some nice things to say about Emmy. This will never happen again so please read it.

  • She helps me keep the house clean by eating all of the food that the boys spill and happily digs cracker crumbs out of the carpet with her tongue and gets the carpet really wet so that when I walk on it, it feels really nice on my feet.

  • She barks and bad guys when they approach the house or anybody else who might be walking by. I do enjoy the doorbell effect.

  • She is calm when nobody is around. At all other times, she has more energy than anyone I have ever seen and greets all visitors to our home with a hearty jump and some slobber. Such a friendly dog.

  • She is also calm when she sleeps on top of my patio table and my lounge chairs.

  • She is the perfect sized lab, not too big and not too small.

  • She is not a runner or an escape artist like our previous dogs. She just wants to be with us if we can stand her .
  • Did I mention that she cleans up the crumbs that the boys drop on the floor?

Although she has destroyed many a thing in this home, she has added that feel of a dog in a home. There is a presence of a dog in a home that I love. Somehow, it speaks to me of family.

So even when I am ready to kill her, I refrain and control myself.

Why?

Because I really do love her.

It's so true! We just got our first family dog, the first one I've had since I was a kid, and there just something nice about having a dog around the house. Your dog, by the way, is extremely adorable!

I love the plywood floor look. My house sported that look for quite a while. :)

we just got a new puppy after having our last precious member for 17 years. We had to have Annah put to sleep six months ago and thought a puppy would help. Oh how I had forgotten what "puppy" meant. She is the cutest black cocker, but is the most hyper dog I have ever met....I am still hoping...that she will move from puppy to dog...

What a sweetheart! There is nothing like the companionship of a dog. What would we do without them?

She is a beautiful dog. I am usually like "yeah...ok" with dogs, much to my shame but your dog really is a beautiful wee thing! I'd even babysit. That is saying a lot. :O)

How could you not love that face?! If you get tired of her, give me a call and I'll come get her. I have a lot of crumbs on the floor.
