One Year Blogiversary Weekend

It is a very special occasion in our home this year.
Kind of like my birthday.

So, Hottie Husband took me out to dinner last night to this really nice restaurant we have been wanting to try.

Oh, and tomorrow, I get to go to the SPA and enjoy a day all by myself-

NOT!

He actually has no idea that it is my One Year Blogiversary.
He won't until he reads it either tomorrow or the next day.

But we did go to a nice restaurant last night,
with all four boys in tow, we are crazy like that
directly off the ski mountain.

And we did say...

pull your chair forward
that was a really loud way to pull your chair up
sit down in your chair
all the way in your chair
put your napkin in your lap
no, you cannot tuck it into your shirt
say please
put your plate closer to you
don't hold your fork like that
yes, you can have dessert.

Then a Roy Rogers spilled and the culprit blamed his brother who was all the way across the table from him.

Then that sneaky soda stealthily and surreptitiously made its way across the dark brown wood table and spilled into my lap and onto my right breast, making it look like I had some serious leakage problems.

Regardless, because this is all the norm for us   we did enjoy our food, which was amazing and the service was  fabulous. They did not look at us like we were nutty for bringing our clan in, but rather made us feel like we were part of their family. We will go back.

But, that whole thing had absolutely nothing to do with my BIG BLOGIVERSARY WEEKEND!

But, I do want to celebrate with you.
No balloons or spa visit, but perhaps a little, itty bitty deep speech.

This was a year of change and struggle and newness and goodbye's and finding a place.
It was a year of fulfillment of a promise.
And it was a year when I could have felt very disconnected.

Instead, blogging made it a year of connections.

I love that some of my friends from preschool, elementary school and high school e-mail me about things I have written.

I love that my family, who is now far away, is able to see pictures and video right away of our new adventures here.

I love that my neighbor from when I was a little kid reads my blog and e-mails me about my posts.

I love that my friends and family at home, text me or comment or e-mail me about how they relate to something I have said.

I love my new blogging friends who I have never met in person, and how they pray for me and support me in ways I never anticipated.

Thank you for reading.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for staying connected to me.

It makes blogging a joyful pursuit.

Happy Blogiversary to you!!
Your dinner out sounds a lot like a recent dinner out of mine, except it was my husband who spilled Sprite all over my pants.
:)

I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Happy SITS Saturday!

Congratulations!!! Thanks for inspiring me to start my own by being such a great example. Treat yourself to a bubbly bath this weekend if you can't get into the spa!
