I Have A Thing for Old Trucks

I have a thing for trucks.
Hottie Husband had this really cool lifted red truck in high school.
I joke with him that it was the truck I liked first.

But, recently I have a thing for old trucks.
There is one for sale just down the street from us and every time we drive by, the boys say-
Mom, there's your truck!

This summer we took a trip to Idaho and along the road to the bed and breakfast we were heading to, we saw this-

I wonder if his neighbor or wife or friend had the sign made for him.

I just had to stop and take a few photos.

I love all the parts of an old truck.

The mirrors, the grills, the headlights

handles,

gauges, steering wheels,

and windows have so much character.
I love that the keys are in the ignition.

The angel flying in front of this one reminded me of a ship.
It was bright and shiny compared to the rusted and chipped paint that I love.
I wanted to know the story behind it.

Gene saw me lurking in his yard and hollered to me asking if I needed a ride somewhere.
I answered that I just love old trucks and wanted to take some pictures if that was alright with him.

He said- Shoot, take some trucks if you want to.

I thought about taking that one with the keys in the ignition, but what in the world would I possibly do with a two seater?

I love old trucks too. My dad is fixing one right now. I have a dream to have my own with Farmgirl Paints on the side. It'd be perfect to drive around in collecting ugly things and making them beautiful. Maybe someday:)

You just keep me laughing...I had an appointment to talk about lising a house today, but as I parked my car I saw a beautiful Canary Yellow truck in front of the house. I should have taken a picture of it for you!!! First thing I said was is that your beautiful truck outside...of course the answer was YES. I said well I LOVE IT! We'll after seeing the house the owner showed me the workings of his Yellow truck! Wonder if I'll get the listing.
Guess the "apple doesn't fall far from the tree"..lol
How funny you should write about that today honey:-)

I loved your post and your pictures! I, too, love old trucks. Every time I see a 1940's truck puttering down the road, I tell Trent, "I want that." He promptly ignores me because his practical mind goes to upkeep, air bags, and noise level. I, of course, think "How buff would my arms be if I drove a truck with no power steering?" Dream, I tell you, a total dream.
ps - you and HH can take the 2 seater to Inspiration Point. Get a babysitter.
